What £2,750 looks like against the leak

A twelve-person firm covers the audit fee by Tuesday.

Twelve people, six hours of manual admin each per week, at a £95 blended rate. That firm gives away £6,840 a week to work nobody is paying them for. Set the audit fee against a single week of it:

Why the build says “from”

Most firms in this trade publish a single build price they have no way of standing behind, then negotiate away from it on the second call. We would rather publish a floor and hold it.

The audit is fixed at £2,750 because its scope is fixed: one core workflow, one week, one set of deliverables. Nothing about your firm changes what that costs us to do.

A build is different. Node count, the number of systems we have to talk to, and how much compliance surface sits around the workflow move the figure materially. £10,000 is where builds start; the audit is what turns that into your number. Quoting it any earlier would mean guessing, and a guess only ever moves one way once the work starts.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes — 30 minutes, free, and it comes before the audit. Its job is qualification rather than persuasion: we pressure-test where your hours are actually going and decide together whether a paid audit is justified.

We expect to tell roughly half of firms there isn't enough drag to warrant one. If you want to size the problem before you even book the call, the Cost of Latency calculator does that in about a minute.

Why does the build price say “from”?

Because £10,000 is a floor, not a rate. Node count, integrations and compliance surface move the final figure materially, and a number invented before the measurement only ever moves one way afterwards.

The audit is what turns the floor into your figure. You get one fixed quote at the end of it, before you commit to a build, and that number does not move.

Is the audit fee really credited against the build?

Yes, in full, if you commission the build within 30 days of the audit being delivered. It comes off the build price as a line item on the invoice, not as a discount we might revisit.

Past 30 days the audit's findings start going stale — your workflows move — so the credit lapses with them.

What if the audit finds nothing worth automating?

We say so in writing, and we do not propose a build. You keep the Friction Map and the measurement work regardless — that is what the fee bought.

We would rather lose the project than sell a system that will not pay for itself. That position only means anything if the audit is paid work, which is the other reason it is.

What does the retainer cost, and am I tied in?

It is quoted at handover, against the system actually built and the workflows actually running. Retainers are optional and priced monthly.
